SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi initiated a short-term course on Ayurveda for the International delegates in the month of March 2023 and its inaugural session was held on 13/03/2023 in the esteemed presence of Dr. Mamatha KV, Principal of SDMCA Udupi who inaugurated the ceremony.

The occasion was chaired by Dr. Nagaraj S, Medical Superintendent, SDMAH Udupi, Dr. Shrilatha K Kamath, Head of Kayachikitsa Department, also the Chairman of the Curriculum Development committee and Dr. Veerkumara K. Dean of UG studies.

The short term course is designed by SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Kuthpady, Udupi for the delegates from Germany. The aim of the course is to spread the knowledge of Ayurveda to possible extent in Germany and globally.

During her keynote address , Dr Shrilatha Kamath introduced the delegates with the course schedule and expressed that along with Ayurveda the delegates also should visit famous places of Udupi so as to gather the knowledge of local customs and traditions as well. Dr. Mamatha K V. in her presidential address told that the Alumnis of the Institution are serving all over the world and this shows the participative role of institution to spread Ayurveda globally. Dr. Nagaraj S. kindled the fire of quest during his speech in the delegates.

The short term course was attended by 5 delegates and their Professor, Dr.Wolfgang Schoellhorn who served as Director of Institute of Sports science, University of Mainz , Germany. The duration of the course extended from 13/03/2023 to 31/03/2023 , inclusive of both theory and practical sessions with interactive sessions between the delegates and our faculty members. The classes covered fundamentals of Ashtanga Ayurveda along with hands on training experience to the delegates such as practices of Dinacharya, Rtucharya, Ahara krama, Agnikarma, Jaloukavacharana and Panchakarma. As a part of knolwedge exchange program , Dr Wolfgang Schoellhorn delivered two guest lectures to the faculty members and PG Scholars of the institution.

The valedictory program will be conducted on 31/03/2023 at 2.00 PM ,followed by e-certificate distribution to the delegates and the resource persons.
