National Seminar on Rasayana And Vajikarana “Eugenicon– 2019”
The EUGENICON– 2019 seminar was hosted at Shree Dharmasthala Mathrushree Ratnamma Heggade Memorial Golden Jubilee Building, SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi. The programme was presided by Dr. G. Shrinivasa Acharya, Principal. Dr. Nagaraj S, Chief Organising Secretary of National seminar greeted the guest and welcomed the gathering.
The seminar was inaugurated and declared open by Dr. B.S. Prasad, Principal, BMK Ayurveda College, Belgaum. He conveyed his best appreciations regarding the topic of seminar as Rasayana and Vajikarana are the branches of Ayurveda which deals with increasing the quality of life. He also released the Abstract of the National seminar ‘EUGENICON– 2019’.
The inaugural function also witnessed the release of two Text Book on Bhaishajya Rathnavali & An Enlightening Encyclopedia of Classical Ayurveda Formulations’ by Dr. Ravindra Angadi Prof. and Head, Dept. of Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalapana and ‘Text book of Shalyatantra’ by Dr. Rajneesh V. Giri, Prof. and Head, Dept. of Shalyatantra.
Welcome note was given by Dr. Nagaraj S Chief Organising Secretary Eugenicon 2019. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Vijeyandra Bhat, Asso Prof Dept of Kayachikitsa and Manasa Roga.
Key note address was delivered by Dr. Niranjan Rao Dean PG and PhD studies, SDMCA, Udupi who addressed the gathering on the topic ‘Rasayana Vajikarana’. There were four plenary sessions.
The first plenary session was addressed by Dr. B.S. Prasad, Principal, BMK Ayurveda College, Belgaum on the theme ‘Male Infertility’ he spoke about various causes of infertility, its scientific understanding of the measures referred in treatment.
In the 2nd plenary session Dr. G Shrinivasa Acharya, Principal, SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi talked on the theme ‘Vataatapika Rasayana’ highlighting about the different forms of rasayana its importance and highlighted about “Vataatapika Rasayana”. He also spoke about clinically effective formulations and various rasayana yogas.
Key note address was delivered by Dr. Mamatha K.V., Medical Superintendent and HOD, Dept. of Prasootitantra and Streeroga, SDMCA, Udupi who addressed the gathering on the topic ‘Female Infertility’.
In the 3rd plenary session. Dr. S.P. Sreejit, Medical Officer, Kottayam delivered lecture on the theme “Kutipraveshika Rasayana’ explaining the unique method of Rasayana he spoke about the importance of Kutipravashika Rasayana, its practical implication, way to build the Kuti. He also said abouit the uses of Rasayana in maintain the health and also for curing the disease. He also spoke about clinically effective formulations and various rasayana yogas
In the 4th plenary session Dr. Anitha K. Vishwambaram talked on the theme ‘Female Infertility’ highlighting about the different formulations used in treating the female infertility, various modalities of treating the female infertility
The seminar was attended by 600 delegates.
The Valedictory function was at 4.30 P.M. Dr. Suchetha Kumari, Dean Student Welfare welcomed the gathering. The programme was presided by Dr. Niranjan Rao Dean PG and PhD studies, SDMCA , Udupi. He spoke about the need for the healthy life in the present era. He also spoke about the concept of health and various ways to maintain it. He also congratulated the participants who came from distant places and stressed on efficient treatment for infertility
Dr. Shrilatha Kamath T, Professor & Head, Dept. of Kayachikitsa and Manasaroga briefed on the proceedings of the Seminar.
Overall Championship at Amrita School of Ayurveda, Kollam
Amrita School of Ayurveda, Kollam had organized a 2 day National level seminar on Infertility, Prajnanam 2019 at Amritapuri Ashram on 01st and 02nd February 2019 which was inaugurated by His Excellency, Shri. P. Sathasivam, the Governor of Kerala. More than 1200 delegates from 40 colleges over 14 states participated in the event. As a part of the seminar, various competitions were conducted.
20 teams (each consisting of 15 members) participated in the group event from which the team from SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi won the first Prize. For the individual parayana competition, which was conducted in multiple levels of selection, 10 students from our college participated and among the five final candidates 2 of them were chosen. Mr Sandeep S Achar from SDMCA, Udupi won the first prize, and Ms Mahati from SDMCA, Udupi won the third prize. The SDM Team forn the group parayana consisted of Mr Sandeep S Achar, Mr Sriniketh K, Mr Sushruth K, Mr Akarsh Aithal, Ms Shreeprada Shastri, Ms Swathi N Rao, Mr Shrinivasa Narla, Mr Sudarshan Rao, Mr Shrinandan Bhat, Mr Athreya Narayan, Mr Sanath Kumar, Ms Pavithra, Ms Mahati and Ms Ramya.
The performance of the SDM Team was highly appreciated by the valedictorian and the organizing institution.
