Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi celebrated Shishyopanayana and Fresher’s day on 6^th December 2019. Dharmika Pooja Vidhi Vidhana took place in SDM Ayurveda Hospital from 5.30 am through performing the Dhanwantari Homa. Later the students of SDM Ayurveda College welcomed his holiness Sri Sri Vidyavallabha Theertha Swamiji of Kaaniyur Mutt, Udupi, who arrived as the chief guest with poorna kumbha kalasa. Prof. B Yashovarma Secretary , SDMES (R) , Ujire presided over the function. Dr. G. Shrinivasa Acharya, Principal, SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi, Dr. Niranjan Rao, Dean, PG & Ph.D. Studies, Dr. Mamatha K.V., Medical Superintendent of SDM Ayurveda Hospital, Dr. Nagaraj S, Associate Dean, PG & Ph.D Studies, Dr. Suchetha Kumari, Dean, Student Welfare, Dr. Veera Kumara K, Associate Dean, Student Welfare were present. Dr. Arun kumar, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Roga nidana and Dr. Yogish Acharya, Associate Professor, Dept. of Swastavritta coordinated as masters of ceremony. Dr. Niranjan Rao welcomed the gathering and dignitaries.

Sri Sri Vidyavallabha Theertha Swamiji gave informative and spiritual speech. He spoke about the importance of Indian culture and its utility and also about morality, spirituality and how does it helps in leading a disease free life. Principal Dr. G. Shrinivasa Acharya sir honoured the chief guest. Dr. Suchetha Kumari directed the prathijna vidhi (oath taking) for I BAMS and I PG Scholars. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Veera Kumara K.
