SDM College of Ayurveda Organizes Successful Blood Donation Camp in Udupi
Udupi, 6 August 2026: Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda, Hospital & Research Centre, Udupi, organized a blood donation camp on 6 August 2026 to promote voluntary blood donation and support community healthcare services.
The programme was conducted in association with the Youth Red Cross, NSS Unit, and Rotaract Club of the Institution, with the cooperation of the District AIDS Prevention Unit, Udupi; Blood Bank, District Hospital, Udupi; and Lions Club (Lakshya), Udupi.
The programme was graced by the presence of Chief Guest Dr. H. Ashok, District Surgeon, District Hospital, Udupi; Dr. Sathish Rao, Senior HIO, District Hospital, Udupi; Lion Herald Soans, President, Lions Club (Lakshya), Udupi; and Dr. Sneha, Medical Officer, Blood Bank Unit, District Hospital, Udupi; Dr. Mamatha K. V., Principal; Dr. Nagaraj S., Vice Principal (Academics); Dr. Prathviraj Puranik, UG Dean; Dr. Shrikanth P., PG Dean; Dr. Vidyalakshmi K., Dean, Community Services; and Dr. Yogesh Acharya, Associate Dean, Youth Red Cross.
The camp received an overwhelming response from students, staff, and volunteers. A total of 108 donors voluntarily donated blood, contributing significantly towards meeting the blood requirements of patients in need.
The initiative highlighted the institution’s commitment towards social responsibility and public health welfare. The active participation of various organizations, dignitaries, and volunteers ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the camp.
