Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Ayurveda College, Hospital and Research Centre, Kuthpadi, Presentation of the Janapada Vaidhya Siri Award – 2025:

The Janapada Vaidhya Siri Award, presented annually at the state level under the guidance of our institution’s president and the religious head of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala, the highly respected Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, took place on December 2nd 2025, at the Bhavaprakash Auditorium of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Ayurveda College, Hospital and Research Centre, Kuthpadi, Udupi.

This year, the award was presented to Vaidya Manjunath Hegde, Hoodlamane, a Janapada Vaidhya from the Sirsi Taluk, Uttara Kannada District. Vaidya Manjunath Hegde, Hoodlamane, 70 years old, has over 50 years of experience in traditional healing practices and has specialized expertise in treating various ailments such as back pain, general diseases, skin disorders, women’s health issues and infertility. He uses his personally prepared medicines for treatment.

The event was graced by Dr. Mamatha K.V., Principal; Dr. Nagaraj S., Medical Superintendent, Dr. Prashanth K, Dean Administration; Dr.Shrikanth P, Dean PG and Phd Studies; and Dr. Prathviraj Puranik, Dean UG Studies, Dr. Ramadevi G., Dean Extra-Curricular Committee who all honored the awardee.

The honored Janapada Vaidhya expressed his happiness and shared insights about the traditional Janapada style of medicine. He advised the students to trust in Ayurveda, as there will be a growing demand for Ayurvedic practices in the future.

Center’s head Dr. Ravikrishna S. invited the awardee to the stage, member Dr. Ravi K.V. introduced the guest and Dr. Arhanth Kumar A read the felicitation certificate. Dr. Sushmita V.S. compered the program.
