Gunavatta Yatra

National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH-QCI) along with SDM Institute of Ayurveda & Hospital, Bengaluru has organized one day Gunavatta yatra (NABH Awareness program) on 25th January 2026 conducted at Hospital Board room, SDMIAH, Bengaluru.
Gunavatta Yatra is an awareness initiative aimed at promoting a culture of quality, patient safety, and continuous improvement in healthcare organizations. As part of this initiative, a NABH Awareness Program was conducted to sensitize healthcare professionals about National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) standards and their role in improving healthcare delivery.
Dr Satish B N, NABH faculty member, Mr. Venugopal, Advisor, NBQP-QCI were the Resource Person and Chief Guest of this program respectively. The registration began at 10am followed by high tea. The program began at 11am with an inaugural session that included a prayer and the traditional Tulasi watering by the dignitaries. This was followed by a warm welcome address by Dr. Rashma S, Associate professor Swasthavrutta Department. Dr. Mamatha K.V. Professor & HOD, Department of Shalakya Tantra briefed about the SDM Educational Society, Institutions under SDMES and SDMIAH Bengaluru, SDMIAH, Bengaluru. Dr Basavaraj S, DyMS and Dr. Shankar S, Professor & HOD, Department of Shalya Tantra were graced the occasion on stage. Later vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Prathibha Bhat, Assistant professor, Department of Panchakarma.
Mr. Venugopal, Advisor, NBQP-QCI introduced delegates to NABH-QCI, vision and mission of the organization.
Dr Satish B N, delivered an insightful lecture on various aspects of NABH-QCI starting with
Introduction to NABH and its importance in healthcare quality, Overview of NABH chapters and standards, Patient safety goals and risk management, importance of Documentation, SOPs, and record maintenance, Roles and responsibilities of staff in NABH implementation, Interactive discussions and examples were used to help participants understand practical implementation of NABH standards in daily hospital operations. At the end of session NABH-QCI pledge was taken by all delegates.
Total 31 delegates across Bangalore were registered, attended the program. Student council members and Gunavatta yatra organizing committee members were actively involved in the program.
