The Department of Kaumarabhrityaorganized a State level CME on BalaPoshana in Vagbhata hall, Sri DharmasthalaManjunatheshwaraAyurveda College and Hospital, Udupi on 15/12/2022 from 9 AM.

The President of the function was Dr Mamatha K V ( Principal, SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi ), Chief guest for the ceremony was Dr Nalini Bhaskaranand (Consultant Pediatrician, Hitech Medicare Hospital, Ambalpadi, Udupi).The Chief Organizing Secretary was Dr Prathviraj Puranik (Professor and Head, Department of Kaumarabhritya, SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi ). Dr Deepak S M ( Deputy Medical Superintendent, SDM Ayurveda Hospital, Udupi)was present among the dignitaries. The programme commenced with Prayer by Dr Anju G K and Dr Pooja Bhat( II MD Scholars, SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi ) followed by inauguration and lighting the lamp by the guests. Dr Prathviraj Puranik delivered the welcome Address. DR. Nalini Bhaskaranand congratulated the department for the  organization of an apt CME on nutrition. Dr Mamatha K V highlighted the traditional nutrition concepts mentioned in Ayurveda in her Presidential address. Vote of thanks was given by Dr SahanaShankari Associate Professor, Dept. Of Kaumarabhritya, SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi.

The first speaker Dr Nalini Bhaskaranand delivered a lecture on “Nutritional aspects in Inborn errors of metabolism”. She stressed upon many nutritional disorders and importance of proper diet to be taken in such conditions.

The second speaker Dr Prasanna Keshava gave lecture on the topic “Pathya Kalpana in Pediatric disorders”. He talked about the relevance and scope of Pathya Kalpana in Pediatric disorders in present era and the initiative by Ayush ministry–“Ayurveda Ahara” owing to the pertaining importance.

The third speaker Dr Janardhanan Prabhu spoke on “Preterm care and Management”. He conveyed the significance of early intervention and care for the Preterm baby preventing their mortality and long term morbidity.

Nearly 30 Delegates who participated in the CME were from Alvas Ayurveda Medical College, Moodbidri, Muniyal Ayurveda Medical College, Manipal, Karnataka Ayurveda Medical College, Mangalore and PG Scholars from Dept of Kaumarabhritya, SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi. Other faculties of the institution Dr Nagarathna Associate Professor, Dept of Kaumarabhritya, SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi, Dr Chithralekha  Assistant Professor, Dept of Kaumarabhritya, SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi also graced the occasion with the presence.

Dr Kavya Assistant Professor, Dept of Kaumarabhritya, SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupiwas the Programme Coordinator. All PG Scholars of Dept of Kaumarabhritya, Internees also actively participated in the programme. Master of Ceremony was done by Dr Ashigha S (I MD Scholar, Dept of Kaumarabhritya, SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi ).
