Awareness program on NABL Acredation 

An Awareness Programme on NABL Accreditation was successfully organized on 18th March 2026 at Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda Hospital and Research Centre, Kuthpady, Udupi, in association with the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL).
The inauguration ceremony commenced at 10:00 AM in the gracious presence of Dr. Mamatha K. V., Principal, SDMCAU; Dr. Jayakrishna Nayak, Medical Superintendent; Dr. Nagaraj S., Vice Principal and Head of the Department of Roganidana and Vikriti Vijnana; Dr. Rajalakshmi, Associate Dean (PG Studies); Dr. Naveenchandra, NABL Coordinator, SDMCAU; Dr. Murulidhar Poojar, Medical Superintendent, SDMCA&H Hassan; Mr. Santosh M., Coordinator, NABL–QCI; and Dr. Nitin Kumar U., QCI Expert.
The programme began with the traditional lighting of the lamp and an invocation seeking divine blessings through prayer by Dr. Ela. Dr. Naveenchandra N.H., SRO delivered the welcome address and extended floral greetings to the dignitaries. The presidential address was given by Dr. Mamatha K.V., who highlighted the importance of accreditation in enhancing healthcare quality and laboratory standards.
The first session was conducted by Mr. Santosh M., who provided an informative introduction to Gunvatta Yatra, along with an overview of the Quality Council of India (QCI) and its various board activities.
The second technical session was delivered by Dr. Nitin Kumar U., focusing on NABL accreditation, including the accreditation process, documentation requirements, online application procedures, and the NABL Medical Testing Laboratories (M(EL)T) Recognition Programme. He elaborated on the significance of accreditation, NABL’s core activities, scope, required documentation, certificate validity, and also introduced relevant ISO standards and their general requirements.
The session concluded with a demonstration of the online NABL application process, followed by an interactive question-and-answer session.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Sadananda Bhat, Assistant Professor, Department of Roganidana evum Vikriti Vijnana. Around 50 beneficiaries and delegates participated in the programme.
