ANVESHANA 2026

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in association with the Department of Integrated Health & Transitional Research of SDM College of Ayurveda, Hospital and Research Centre, Udupi, organized a one day National seminar on Research Methodology and Medical Statistic -“Anveshana – 2026” on March 6, 2026. The program was conducted in association with the Department of AYUSH, Government of Karnataka and Government Ayurveda Research Centre, Mysuru.
The seminar was inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Srinath Rampure and Dr. Nithin emphasized the growing importance of interdisciplinary research and technological integration in healthcare.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Lakshminarayan N. Shenoy, Director of Government Ayurveda Research Centre, Mysuru, highlighted the need for strong scientific validation and research to strengthen the global acceptance of Ayurveda.
Dr. Mamatha K.V., Principal, SDMCAH&RC, in her presidential address, encouraged postgraduate scholars to actively participate in research activities and contribute to evidence-based advancement of Ayurvedic science. Welcome address was delivered by Dr. Ashok Kumar B.N, Chief Organising Secretary, Anveshana – 2026. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sahana Shankari, Associate Professor, Department of Kaumarabhrithya.
The seminar featured five expert scientific sessions delivered by eminent academicians. Dr. Satyanarayan Bhat, Principal, Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda and Research, Manipal, spoke on Clinical Study Designs, explaining various research designs applicable to Ayurvedic clinical studies. Dr. L. N. Shenoy conducted a session on Biostatistics in Ayurveda, focusing on statistical concepts essential for research data analysis.
Dr. Prakash L. Hegde, Professor, Department of Dravyaguna, SDM College of Ayurveda, Hassan, delivered a lecture on new drug discovery and drug standardization, highlighting the importance of quality control and scientific validation in herbal drug development.
In the afternoon sessions, Dr. Ravikrishna S, Associate Professor, Department of Agadatantra, SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi, presented Art of Synopsis Writing – Part 1, guiding postgraduate scholars on structuring research proposals. This was followed by Dr. Sandesh Kumar, Professor and Head, Department of Integrated Health & Transitional Research, who elaborated on research methodology, referencing and presentation techniques in Art of Synopsis Writing – Part 2
In valedictory function, the seminar report was presented by Dr. Naveen Chandra N.H., Senior Research Officer and Chairman of the Scientific Committee of Anveshana 2026. Dr. Lakshminarayan N. Shenoy was felicitated for his contribution to the seminar. The Presidential address was delivered by Dr. Nagaraj S., Vice Principal, who emphasized that research is the backbone of academic growth and encouraged students to pursue innovative research in Ayurveda. Dr. Jayakrishna Nayak, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Ashok Kumar B.N., Chief Organising secretary were present in the program. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sandesh Kumar, Organising Secretary, Anveshana – 2026.
A total of 200 postgraduate scholars and faculty members participated in the seminar. The program successfully enhanced the understanding of research methodology, biostatistics, drug discovery and synopsis preparation among participants and motivated them to undertake quality research in Ayurveda.
