Udupi, August 4: The Department of Samhita Siddhanta and Sanskrit, Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda, Hospital & Research Centre, Udupi, organised the 4th Charaka Samhita Udayasthamana Parayana at Bhavaprakasha Auditorium to commemorate Charaka Jayanti under the guidance of Principal Dr. Mamatha K.V.
The continuous recitation began at 6 a.m. and concluded at 7:30 p.m., covering 18 chapters and 3,025 shlokas from the Charaka Samhita Chikitsasthana over 13.5 hours. More than 500 participants including faculty members, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and interns participated enthusiastically in the programme.
The event marked the successful completion of the fourth consecutive year of the initiative, reflecting the institution’s commitment to preserving and promoting the classical literary heritage of Ayurveda and fostering a culture of scriptural learning among future generations of Ayurveda scholars and practitioners.
