International Women’s Day Celebration
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, celebration was jointly organized by the IQAC, the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), and the Literary Committee of SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi, on March 10, 2026.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Mrs. Rashmi S. R., Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Kundapura. Addressing the gathering, she motivated the students by stating, “Medical students should not limit themselves only to clinical practice but should also set their sights on Civil Service examinations such as UPSC and KAS. The administrative sector offers immense opportunities to serve the common public at a grassroots level.”
The Guest of Honour, Ms. A. Lakshmi Bai, Retired Principal, shared her pearls of wisdom: “One must accept the diverse opportunities life offers with an open mind. Success is truly meaningful only when you perform your profession with love and satisfaction, rather than pursuing it solely for monetary gains.”
Presiding over the function, Dr. Mamatha K. V., Principal of the College, highlighted the importance of gender synergy. She remarked, “Peace and success in society are possible only when both men and women cooperate and complement each other’s efforts.”
To commemorate the day, a State-Level Essay Competition was conducted on the topic “Innovative Cuisines of Ayurveda.” The winners were announced during the ceremony. Dr. Vijay Neglur, Professor and Head of the Department of Swasthavritta, and Dr. Shubha P. U., Assistant Professor in the Department of Agada Tantra, were honored for their contribution as judges for the competition.Dr. Shrilatha K. (Dean, IQAC) graced the occasion.

Dr. Likhitha H. K., member, Literary committee, announced the list of prize winners.
Dr. Chaitra (Chairperson, ICC Committee) provided essential guidance for the event’s success.
Dr. Asha Gurukrupa Rao proposed the vote of thanks. The program was elegantly compered by Post-Graduate scholar, Dr. Simran Kharoshi.
The event saw active participation from the teaching faculty, non-teaching staff, and post-graduate scholars of the institution.
