The Speech and Language Therapy Unit, “Balabhashini”, was officially inaugurated on February 19, 2026, at the SDM Ayurveda Hospital, Kutpadi, Udupi. This unit is a part of the Pediatrics Department and aims to provide comprehensive treatment for speech and language development disorders in children.
Dr. Nagaraj S, Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Subrahmanya Bhat, Sanskrit Professor, and Dr. Sanika Vatve, Speech and Hearing Therapist, inaugurated the unit. Dr. Ramya and Dr. Dhanya, Interns offered prayers.
Dr. Nagaraj S highlighted the importance of integrated treatment approaches for various developmental disorders and stated that this unit is a significant step towards the overall development of the Pediatrics Department. Dr. Subrahmanya Bhat wished that the unit would bring blessings and positive outcomes for the patients.
Dr. Prithviraj Puranik, Head of the Department, expressed gratitude to everyone. Dr. Sanika Vatve, Speech Therapist, thanked the institution and emphasized the need for parents to cooperate with the unit in helping their children.
The event was attended by various department heads, and hosting Dept faculties Dr. Nagarathna S J, Dr. Sahana Shankari, Dr. Kavya, and Dr. Chitralekha. Dr. Likitha M V, final pg scholar hosted the event.
