Innovative Academic Building Inaugurated at SDM Ayurveda College
SDM College of Ayurveda Hospital and Research Centre`s newly constructed academic building inaugurated by His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Subudhendra Teertha Sripadangal Peethadhipati, Shri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt, Mantralaya on Friday.
The newly constructed academic building, spanning an impressive 90,000 square feet. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to enhance the educational experience, promote innovation, and create a conducive learning environment for students and faculty alike.
In the past, many people did not have the opportunity to properly study Ayurveda academically. However, that is not the case now. Anyone who wishes to study Ayurveda has the opportunity to do so. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ayurveda played a significant role and people became aware of its importance, said Dr. Veerendra Heggade, president of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Educational Society Ujire.
Speaking at the inauguration of the new building at SDM Ayurvedic College, Hospital, and Research Center in Kuthpadi, Udupi, All the three Ayurvedic centers of SDM maintained an excellent reputation he added. He praised Mr. Shreyas Kumar, the Director of SDM Educational society, for successfully completing new building in Udupi Ayurveda college under his leadership.
The SDM has been instrumental in designing and implementing numerous programs across the nation aimed at preserving culture, religion, education, and ancient healthcare practices. Speaking on the occasion, Kota Srinivas Poojari remarked that Shri D. Veerendra Heggade has been actively involved in community-building efforts for many years. He expressed pride in seeing someone who has dedicated their entire life to the betterment of society. He further stated that Heggade and the institution possess the capability to establish such remarkable organizations.
Dr. Srinivas Prasad Buduru, the President of the Ayurveda Board, National Commission for Indian System of Medicine, Ministry of AYUSH, New Delhi, expressed his admiration for the goals of SDM College. He commended Shri Veerendra Heggade for his foresight in envisioning the establishment of an Ayurvedic college nearly thirty years ago. In recognition of this vision, 25 new educational programs were inaugurated to mark the Silver Jubilee of the Postgraduate Department of SDM Ayurvedic College, Udupi.
