International Day of Yoga – 2022
The Department of PG Studies in Swasthavritta in association with NSS Unit conducted various programs on account of International Day of Yoga – 2022. Yoga Saptaha – 7 day yoga session was conducted from 14.06.22 to 21.06.22 to the students.On 21.06.21, yoga session was followed by yoga demonstration competition. Later, in the formal stage program, Dr Nagaraj S, Medical Superintendent, SDM Ayurveda Hospital, Udupi addressed the students highlighting the role of yoga in promoting self-discipline and called for adopting yoga in daily routine. Dr Veerakumara K, Dean, Student Affairs, stated that yoga, the ancient Indian science is embraced by the whole world and it is important for Indians to adopt yoga in our daily life. Principal, Dr Mamatha K V, in her presidential address, highlighted the role of yoga in prevention as well as management of many diseases. Yoga helps to promote physical, mental and spiritual health, thus upholding the holistic health of an individual, she added. Dr Vijay B Negalur, Head, Department of PG Studies in Swasthvritta, welcomed the gathering. Dr Yogeesha Acharya, Associate Professor presented the program report. Dr Arpana Radhesh, Yoga Consultant and Dr KrithiAmai, Assistant Professor were present. Dr Sandesh Kumar, Associate Professor, compered the program.
