On the occasion of Children’s Day celebration 2021, Department of Kaumarabhritya had organized an awareness talk and various competitions for different age categories between 0-3yrs, 3-6yrs and 6-10yrs respectively at Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshara Ayurveda Hospital, on 13^th November 2021.

The program began with inviting the dignitaries,  Dr Mamatha K.V,Principal , SDMCA, Udupi. Dr. Nagaraj .S, Medical Superintendent, SDMCA, Udupi, Dr.Sharaschandra. R, Associate Professor, Department of Kaumarabhritya, Dr. Prathvirajpuranik , Professor and HOD Department of Kaumarabhritya, Organising Secretary.

The program commenced with invocation by Dr Suja, 2^nd year PG. Scholar, Dept. of Kaumarabhritya, SDMCA, Udupi, Dr.Prathviraj Puranik welcomed all guests and the gathering.  Program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp, Dr. Sharaschandra R. delivered speech on “Psychological disorders of children and their management”. Highlighted regarding when to approach a doctor, encourage child for query, various methods to distract and relax a child. The program was followed by distribution of prizes to the participants for their magnificent performance in various competitions. The 1^st and 2^nd prize winners of Healthy baby competition were Avani Kedilaya & Chiraswi, Fancy dress competition were  Srish & Sharvi & Drawing competition were Aathmi & Yagnika, All other participants were encouraged by giving toys and participation certificate.

The presidential address was given by Dr Mamatha KV , Principal, SDMCA, Udupi.

Dr.Nithin Kumar, Associate Professor, dept of Shareera Rachana & Dr.Sucheta Kumari, Associate Professor, Dept of Prasooti tantra & Stree roga were the judges for Fancy dress competition. Dr.Sushmitha V S, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Rasa shastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana & Dr.Shrikanth P, Professor & Head, Dept of Dravyaguna , were the judges for drawing competition. Dr Prathviraj Puranik was the judge for Healthy baby competition.

Dr. Atreya, intern proposed vote of thanks, All Staff members, PG scholars of Kaumarabhritya and Intern’s coordinated the program. The Master of the ceremony was Dr. Pooja, 1^ST year PG scholar, Dept. of Kaumarabhritya, SDMCA, Udupi.
