Post Graduate Department of Samhita Siddhanta and Sanskrit of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi organized a 6 days CME for Ayurveda Samhita Siddhanta faculties from 4th to 9th September, 2023. The program was sponsored by Ministry of Ayush and coordinated by Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth. The Program on 4th September at 9 am which was inaugurated by the Resource person of that day- Dr. Abhijith Saraf, Professor and Head, SSAM & H, Nasik, Maharashtra; Dr. Supriya Bhalerao, Scientist and Head, Metabolic Reasearch lab, IRSHA, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed university, Pune; Dr. Mamatha K V, Principal, SDMCAH, Udupi; Dr. Nagaraj S, Medical Superintendent, SDMAH, Udupi; Dr. Vidyalakshmi K, Professor and Head, Department of Samhita and Siddhanta and Sanskrit, SDMCAH, Udupi. 12 resource persons and 30 delegates from 8 states of India; all the faculties of department and College. Dr. Vidyalakshmi K, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Nagaraj S explained the importance of training program for teachers. Dr. Mamatha K V mentioned about the importance of department of Samhita and Siddhanta as the mother of all other departments in the presidential address. Dr. Mahalakshmi M S coordinated the program. Dr. Arhanth Kumar A presented the vote of thanks.

Daily the session began with Shloka Parayana from Samhita and Darshana by the department Post graduate students. The shloka were selected according to the sessions concerned to the day. The Shloka were displayed for involving the delegates in Parayana.

Various Teaching methods were introduced by the resource person during the deliberation guiding the delegates about application of relevant methods on each topic of syllabus. For Example:- Role Play, Debate, Group discussion, Brainstorming, flipped classroom, study with nature, Classical reading of Samhita, Reading and editing manuscripts, case based study, problem based study, experiential learning, games like word maze, treasure hunt and cross word etc.

All the sessions were engaged with lecture method and activities related to the topic. The delegates actively participated in the activities and interactive sessions. The session of last day on Panchamahabhuta demonstration was conducted at Kunjarugiri, Pajaka Kshetra- a place near to nature, historic place, birth place of Darshanakara- Acharya Madhwacharya. The Shloka Parayana session of that day was done in the room of display of Madhwacharya Kruti and few more manuscript.

Valedictory program was conducted on 9th September, 2023. The program was presided by Dr. Niranjan Rao, Vice Principal, SDMCAH, Udupi. Chief guest was one of the resource person – Dr. Ritesh Gujarati. Dr. Mahalakshmi M S welcomed the gathering. Dr. Likhita D N read the report on 6 days CME. Valuable feedback were shared by the Guest as well as delegates in the form of poems and also spoke high on the hospitality, food, scientific sessions, time management etc. Dr. Niranjan Rao, Dr. Ritesh Gujarati, Dr. Nagaraj S and Dr. Veerakumara K, Dean Administration gave the certificates to the delegates..Dr. Niranjan Rao appreciated the efforts of department and encouraged the department to continue the work. Dr. Vidyalakshmi K, thanked all the guests, delegates, resource person and support given by college – hospital staffs. Dr. Dhanashree coordinated the program.
