Dr. Muralidhara Sharma, Professor Shalyatantra Department was selected for “Best Teacher Award” in the field of Ayurveda by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and honored on the auspicious occasion of Teacher’s Day 2015 at RGUHS, Bangalore. Dr. T. Shridhar Bairy, Professor, Dept. of Dravyaguna, awarded as “Best Research Scholar in Ayurveda” by Prakruti Ayurveda Pratishtana, Mysore in their decennial celebration. 7 staff members are recognized as Ph.D. guides of the University and 22 Staff members were registered for Ph.D. in Ayurveda and one staff has been awarded with Ph.D. in 2016. Dr. Shreekanth U, Principal, Dept. of Panchakarma, was selected as B.O.S. P.G. member, R.G.U.H.S. Karnataka, Bengaluru.
  • SDMCA is known for its excellent university results and the student disciplines with large number of students getting distinctions in university examinations. On an average eighty to ninety five percent overall results comes every year in university examinations.
  • Our students are getting scholarships like Central Govt. National Merit-cum-Means Scholarship, Govt. Post Metric Scholarship to SC & ST students, Labour Welfare Organization, Min. of Labour & Employment, Central Wakf Council, New Delhi and Dept. of Sainik Welfare (Military Scholarship) etc.
  • College Boys Kabaddi Team has participated in RGUHS, Mysore Zone Kabaddi Tournament and secured 3rd place. Tournament was at T.M.A.E. Ayurveda College, Shimoga on 17th October 2016 to 21st October 2016. Dr. Sharad Kumar, Internee & Mr. PramodKutakoli, III BAMS of our college were selected for representing RGUHS in the South Zone Inter University Kabaddi Tournament to be held at Veltech University, Chennai.
  • Two students of our institution DrSharath Kumar-Internee and MrPramodKotakoli-II BAMS were got selected for RGUHS South Zone Inter University Men’s Kabaddi tournament-2016- 17, which was held at Chennai during 18th January 2017 to 22nd January 2017.
  • Mr. Vishwajith secured the II place in Wrestling (74 Kg) in Inter collegiate RGUHS Single Zone held at T.M.A.E.’s Ayurvedic Medical College in the year 2017.
  • Dr. Chethan Kumar secured III place in best Physique (category 68) in Inter collegiate Weight Lifting and Best Physique Men held at J.J.M. Medical College, Dhawangere in the year 2017.
  • Mr. Vishwajith Kumar LS secured I place in best Physique (category 80) in Inter collegiate Weight Lifting and Best Physique Men held at J.J.M. Medical College, Dhawangere in the year 2017.
  • RGUHS Mysore Zonal Men’s & Women’s Table Tennis Tournament was conducted on 28-08-2015 at Bhavaprakasha Auditorium. Dr K R Ramachandra, Former Principal of SDMCA, Udupi inaugurated the programme and explained the importance of Sports in enriching both mind and body. Totally 12 Men’s and 6 Women’s team participated in it. In Men’s section M. V. Shetty Physiotherapy College, Mangalore won I prize and KVG Medical College, Sullia won II prize. In Women’s section Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore won I prize and SDMCA, Udupi won II prize.
  • Our college Women’s Volley ball team were the winners in RGUHS Mysore Zone Volley Ball Tournament held at A.I.M.S., Bellur on 29th and 30th September 2015.
  • As a part of college day celebration internees association have conducted inter class cricket tournament on 25-11-2015 and 26-11-2015.
  • 8 BAMS students have participated in RGUHS Inter Zonal Weight Lifting and Body Building competition held at Badravathi on 04-01-2016. 2 students bagged I and II prize in this category.
  • Sports day was celebrated on 12-02-2016. All staff members and students participated in various sports and athletic competitions.
  • Ayurveda Academy Bangalore organized Inter Ayurveda College literary and fine arts competitions during 25th to 27th November 2016.  A team of 15 students of our college participated in this competition and bagged prizes as follows  :

  • The literary and fine arts competition “Alvas Chakravyuha Feast 2015” was organized by Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology, Moodbidri on 11th – 13th April 2015.  43 Students were participated in Group Patriotic song, Medical Quiz,  Scavenger Hunt, Duet Song,  Dumb Charada,  Instrumental, Picture Description,  Cartooning,  Extempore - Kannada competitions and won many prizes. International Ayurwiz-3, National level Quiz contest – the zonal level was won by our student Dr. Nandeesh and Dr. Sandhyalakshmi K. and were selected for the State level competition to be held at Bengaluru during April 2016 organized by Himalaya Drug Company, Bangalore.
  • A State level debate competition was conducted by Prakruthi Ayurveda Prathistana, Kuvempunagar, Mysore on the topic of Guru Shishya Parampara is a must for today’s Ayurveda Education System” on 15-11-2015.  Mr Kasturi Rangan B.S., II Prof BAMS  student has participated in this competition and secured II Prize.
    Dr. Sourabh, III PG Scholar in the department of Shalyatantra, won 1st Prize with Gold medal in Ayurveda PG Students Essay  competition on the topic” Necessity of basic Sciences for the development of Ayurveda”, conducted by Vishwa Ayurveda Parishad, Lucknow, on 09-11-2015.
    ‘Sadhanam’ a ten days residential ayurveda training programme held by Ayurveda Academy, Bangalore from 18-11-2015 to 27-11-2015.  11 students were selected from our college for this training.
  • Amrita-vishwas vidhya peetham – ‘Hrudayamritam – 2015’ was held at Kollam in National level shloka recitation competition on 23-11-2015. Mr. Bharath – III BAMS student is selected and sent for zonal level.
  • Yuva Sabalikarana matthu Kreeda Eilake, Chickmagalur, organized literary & fine arts competition on 02-12-2015. Chethan Upadhyaya, III BAMS student has participated and secured II place in “Classical Violin Play”. 
    Ayurveda Academy Bengalore organized Inter Ayurvedda College literary and fine arts competitions from 7 to 9th December 2015. 15 students have participated and bagged many prizes and our college has bagged overall championship this year also.
  • Lead Prayana Programme sponsored by Deshpande Foundation Trust, Hubbali from 24-01-2016 to 06-02-2016.  Mr. Mahesh K.S. – IV BAMS student is selected and participated from our college for this Lead Prayana Programme.

  • Swachata Abhiyaana- campus cleaning programme was conducted on 16-05-2015 from 3PM to 5PM by NSS Volunteers and staff members have also participated.
    two days seminar on the occasion of International Yoga day celebrations on 20th and 21st June 2015 at Sri Dharmastala Manjunatheshwara College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, Ujire.
  • Vanamahotsava program procured 160 medicinal planted procured from from forest department nursery Heroor Bhramhavara, Jeevaka herbal nursery Kharje Bhramhavara.
  • Prof. Aravinda Hebbar Retired Prof. Botany MGM College Udupi was the chief guest. The chief guest planted the medicinal plant in front of Bhavaprakasha building and inaugurated the program.
  • Visitation to Alva’s Ayurvedic College Modubidre, Alva’s Pharmacy, Anchan Ayurveda Pharmacy, Padubidri, Moodubidre Bharath Pharmacy, Moodubidri, Soan’s Farm, Moodubidre on as a part of Medicinal plants survey and pharmacy visitation to Water purification plant Hiriyadka; Milk Dairy Manipal and Sewage treatment plant Nittur as a part of curriculam. RGUHS Mysore Zonal Men’s & Women’s Table Tennis Tournament: In Men’s section M. V. Shetty Physiotherapy College, Mangalore won I prize and KVG Medical College, Sullia won II prize. In Women’s section Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore won I prize and SDMCA, Udupi won II prize.
  • PG Department of Dravyaguna conducted one week study tour regarding ethno medico botanical survey as a part of their curriculum. Teachers Day was celebrated and Guruvandana Programme was conducted. On this occasion Vidwan Sri. K. Seetharama Bhat, Retired Professor in Sanskrit, SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi was felicitated.
  • Himalaya Drug Company has conducted the International Ayurwiz -3, Quiz Competition on 09-09-2015 at SDMCA, Udupi. In this 46 students have participated and finally Internees namely Dr. Sandhya Lakshmi and Dr. Nandeesh were selected for won first prize
  • Dr.C. H Rajani, NSS volunteer of our college selected for representing RGUHS Bengaluru and participated in south zone NSS pre Republic Day parade
  • II MD. Students of Agadatantra department were posted to Pappinisseri Visha Chikitsa Kendram Pappinisseri, Kannur, Kerala from 1st August to 31st August 2015. They trained in giving snake bite treatments.
  • A motivation program for freshly joined 1st year BAMS students to join NSS as volunteer was conducted on 15-10-2015 between 11am to 12 noon. A power point presentation highlighting aims and objectives, motto, organization, work schedule, scope and benefits of NSS was done and 40 students of 1st year BAMS registered their names as volunteer for the year 2015–16.
  • ‘Sadhanam’ a ten days residential Ayurveda training programme held by Ayurveda Academy in Bangalore from 18-11-2015 to 27-11-2015. For this training programme 11 students were selected from our institution.
  • Astanga hrudaya sloka programme started from 19-11-2015 at ladies hostel daily at 6.00 AM in prayer hall.
  • Amrita-vishwas vidhya peetham – ‘Hrudayamritam – 2015’ was held at Kollam in National level shloka recitation competition on 23-11-2015. In screening level three students were participated and one candidate namely Mr. Bharath – III BAMS student is selected and sent for zonal level.
  • As a part of college day celebration internees association of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi conducted inter class cricket tournament on 25-11-2015 and 26-11-2015.
    On 7,8 and 9th of Dec. 2016 – 14 students have participated in Ayurveda Academy competition held at Bengaluru and got overall championship this year also.
  • Seven days Annual special camp of NSS unit conducted during from 23rd to 29th December 2015 at Sharada High School, Cherkady (Brahmavara – Hebri road). Fifty four students took participation as volunteers in this camp.
